The Federal High Court (FHC) in Lagos has introduced a new online portal, allowing the public to obtain affidavits digitally.

This initiative, spearheaded by FHC Chief Judge Justice John Tsoho, aims to modernise court operations in line with global digital standards.

During a visit by Vanguard to the Lagos division on Friday, the court’s Deputy Chief Registrar, Mr. Godwin Longe, facilitated an inspection of the newly established ICT department, managed by Mr. Agwu Charles.

Agwu explained that the public can now use the portal to apply for affidavits related to loss of items, age declarations, and name changes. “Simply login to portal.fhc.gov.ng and follow the instructions,” he said.

Longe further clarified that, for now, the portal handles only non-case-related affidavits, while affidavits for ongoing legal cases are still processed manually due to their specific requirements. He encouraged the public to take advantage of the new service, noting that in-person attendance is no longer necessary for many affidavit requests.
