Tosin Ojo, a sports consultant and football talent identification-scout, has reacted to Nigeria’s Falconets performance in the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup.

Japan edged Nigeria 2-1 in the Round of 16 at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia on Friday morning, preventing the Falconets from qualifying for another quarterfinal outing.

Despite the defeat, Ojo commended Coach Christopher Danjuma and the Falconets of Nigeria.

The football talent identification-scout in his message on Friday said the team’s participation in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup is a testament to its hard work and dedication to the sport

“Although the outcome of the match against Japan wasn’t what you had hoped for, your determination, skill, and teamwork were on full display throughout the tournament,” he said.

“Losing to a strong opponent like Japan doesn’t define your worth as a team or individual players.

“You’ve inspired countless young girls and women back home to take up the beautiful game, and your achievements will continue to motivate them to strive for excellence.

“This experience will undoubtedly serve as a valuable learning opportunity for each of you.
Analyze the game, identify areas for improvement, and use this as fuel to drive your growth and development as players. Remember, setbacks are an essential part of the journey to success.”

Ojo urged the Falconets to hold their heads high, proud of their passion, resilience, and sportsmanship, inspiring admiration worldwide.

Speaking further, Ojo asked Coach Bankole Olowookere and the Nigeria U17 Women’s team to gear up for the FIFA World Cup and lead the team to victory.

“We believe in the talent, skill, and determination of your players. They have worked tirelessly to reach this stage, and with your guidance, they can overcome any obstacle,” he continued.

“The team’s success will not only bring joy to Nigerians but also inspire a new generation of young girls to take up the sport.

“This World Cup presents an opportunity for you to make history and leave a lasting legacy in Nigerian football.

“A successful campaign will cement your place as one of the most successful coaches in the country’s history, and your players will be remembered as heroes.

“We urge you to draw inspiration from the passion and support of the Nigerian people. We will be cheering you and the Flamingos every step of the way, and we have no doubt that you will make us proud.

The sports consultant wished Coach Bankole Olowookere and the Flamingos the best of luck for a victorious FIFA World Cup campaign in the Dominican Republic.
