The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 20,867 senior officers across various ranks within its agencies.
Ja’afaru Ahmed, the Board Secretary, announced this during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday after the board’s two-day meeting. He revealed that the officers promoted come from all the agencies under the board’s jurisdiction.
According to Ahmed, the promotions include 5,339 officers in the Nigerian Correctional Service, 5,112 in the Nigeria Immigration Service, 489 in the Federal Fire Service, and 9,937 in the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Additionally, the board granted special promotions to two officers in the Nigerian Correctional Service, four in the Nigeria Immigration Service, one in the Federal Fire Service, and two in the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps for their exemplary service, integrity, and contributions to enhancing the agencies’ reputation.
Ahmed also highlighted the board’s commitment to career development, noting the approval for monitoring and evaluating career development courses. He further reassured the public that the 2023/2024 Federal Fire Service recruitment process would be completed by the end of September.
