- This was made known by Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service
The Nigerian government has confirmed that petrol supplies from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos will commence on 15 September, following the finalisation of pricing and supply agreements.
Speaking on Friday, Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and member of the Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products, said the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) will act as the sole buyer of petrol from the refinery.
Other fuel marketers will obtain their supplies through the NNPCL.
From 1 October, the NNPCL will begin supplying the refinery with 385,000 barrels of crude oil per day, with payments made in Naira.
“All agreements have been concluded, and the first loading of petrol from Dangote Refinery will begin on Sunday, 15 September,” Mr Adedeji said in Abuja.
In exchange for crude oil, the refinery will supply petrol and diesel to the local market, also with payments in Naira. Diesel will be available for purchase by any buyer, while petrol will be sold exclusively to the NNPCL for distribution.
