A section of the popular Oko Baba plank market in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State recorded a fire outbreak on Sunday
Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency were said to have arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
An X user, Adedeji Olalekan, while sharing updates on the fire incident, said the inferno affected the shanties in the market.
“Okobaba Street is on fire now, all the shanties are burning,” he tweeted
