Panic as gunmen assassinate Enugu businessman

  • He was said to have been murdered in cold blood by suspected assassins on Saturday night, a development that triggered apprehension in Enugu, the Coal City capital.

A businessman and trader, Stephen Aniagu, has been reportedly shot dead in Enugu state.

Aniagu is the Chairman of Ogbete Market Amalgamated Traders’ Association (OMATA). The market is the largest in the state.

He was said to have been murdered in cold blood by suspected assassins on Saturday night, a development that triggered apprehension in Enugu, the Coal City capital.

The assailants were reported to have murdered him at the Topland Area of the state, after which they made away with his car.

A disturbing video in circulation showed Aniagu’s lifeless body riddled with bullets, leaving residents in shock and disbelief.

The Enugu State Police is yet to issue any statement on the incident.
