President Bola Tinubu has arrived back in Abuja, the nation’s capital following a two-week official journey to China and the United Kingdom (UK).
Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser on information and strategy to the president, disclosed Tinubu’s return via a post on his X page.
He was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by top government officials and security agency heads.
They included George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to the president, Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser, and Nyesom Wike, minister of federal capital territory.
Tinubu had departed Abuja on August 29, briefly stopping in Dubai before arriving in Beijing on September 1.
During his visit, Tinubu met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, resulting in the signing of five critical memoranda of understanding (MoU) on behalf of Nigeria and China.
These agreements covered trade, infrastructure investments, media cooperation, and security improvements.
On September 12, Olusegun Dada, special assistant to the president on social media, said that Tinubu and King Charles discussed “issues related to climate change and action.”
