Nigerian Army troops have killed two terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons in Kaduna State during an operation along the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis, based on credible intelligence.
In a statement on Monday, the army confirmed that troops had set an ambush following reports of terrorist movements in the area, leading to an intense firefight.
The statement read, “In the latest encounter, troops successfully neutralised two terrorists with overwhelming firepower, while others fled in disarray.”
During the operation, troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, three rifle magazines, one Baofeng radio, and three motorcycles used by the terrorists.
The army reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism in the country and ensuring the safety of citizens, noting that troops are still pursuing the wounded terrorists.
