- The reigning champions will face Stuttgart, with Ancelotti expressing excitement for the competition and aiming for another title victory
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed on Monday that midfielders Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni are fit to play as the team begins their Champions League campaign.
The reigning champions, who hold a record 15 titles, will face German side Stuttgart on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ancelotti stated that both Bellingham, an England international, and Tchouameni of France are ready to return after recovering from injuries.
Although defender Eder Militao didn’t train, Ancelotti assured fans he would also be available for the match. “Bellingham and Tchouameni are good to go, and Militao too, even though he needed an extra day of recovery,” Ancelotti said.
Despite the positive news, Real Madrid has lost another key player, Brahim Diaz, to injury.
Bellingham had been sidelined since August due to a calf injury that caused him to miss four La Liga games. His return is seen as a major boost for the team, both on and off the pitch. Defender Dani Carvajal said, “It’s fantastic news. We count on him, and having him back is great for the squad.”
Ancelotti expressed his team’s excitement for this year’s competition: “The Champions League is special for Real Madrid. We’re as eager as ever to compete and will aim to go all the way.”
