One killed, another injured in Lagos auto crash

This accident occurred just a day after a devastating crash on the Third Mainland Bridge left one person dead and eight others injured.

A fatal road accident in Lagos Island has claimed one life and left several passengers injured, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The tragic incident occurred when a commercial Suzuki mini-vehicle collided with a stationary truck on CMS Bridge, Lagos.

Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA’s spokesperson, explained in a statement that the truck driver had pulled over to resolve a mechanical issue when the Suzuki vehicle slammed into it at high speed.

“The impact resulted in his immediate death. A female passenger in the Suzuki sustained severe eye injuries and was urgently transported to the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island, for emergency medical treatment,” he said

LASTMA personnel swiftly responded to the scene, collaborating with officers from Ebute-Ero Police Division, LASMABUS, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Response Unit.

The police efficiently secured the area, facilitated the removal of the deceased’s remains, and assisted LASTMA officers in maintaining smooth traffic flow after the incident.
