Kogi State Inaugurates Committee to Implement New Minimum Wage for Workers

The Kogi State government has officially inaugurated a committee to oversee the implementation of the new national minimum wage of N70,000 for state workers. Dr. Folashade Ayoade, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, made the announcement during the inauguration ceremony held in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Dr. Ayoade urged the committee members to meet public expectations and devise effective strategies for rolling out the new minimum wage.

The committee, chaired by Mr. Elijah Evineme, Kogi State’s Head of Service, pledged to work diligently to meet the mandate and ensure successful implementation.

Key members of the committee include Asiwaju Idris Asiru (Commissioner of Finance), Alhaji Ozigi Deedat (Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Kingsley Fanwo (Commissioner for Information and Communication), Hajia Habitat Onumoko (State Accountant General), Yakubu Okala (State Auditor General), Isiaka Yakubu (Local Government Auditor General), Comrade Onuh Edoka (Special Adviser on Labour Matters), and representatives from organized labour.
