Three Yoruba Nation agitators were arrested by the Osun State Police Command for promoting secessionist ideas and displaying their flags at the Obada Market in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Fagbuyi Oluwafemi, 61, Joy Faseyeku, 63, and Alabede Janet, 64, were apprehended on August 27, 2024.

According to Acting Police Spokesman Emmanuel Giwa-Alade, Fagbuyi, a native of Akure, Ondo State capital, was addressing market vendors, encouraging them to renounce their allegiance to Nigeria, claiming the country ceased to exist after 2014.

He also displayed the Yoruba Nation flag during his speech.
