- The testimony was met with applause in the church
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos chapter, has condemned the testimony of a suspected member of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, who claimed she received divine assistance to engage in exam malpractice.
In a viral video, the church member alleged that an old man appeared to her in the examination hall and provided answers to several questions during a military promotional exam. She also claimed to have shared the answers with a fellow candidate. The testimony was met with applause in the church.
Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Chairman of CAN Lagos, expressed disappointment that the church allowed such a testimony. He criticized it as a “fabrication” and emphasized that God does not support such actions. Adegbite added that there are no shortcuts to academic success apart from hard work and faith in God.
He stated, “Testimonies like this should never be accepted in church. Before allowing people to testify, the church must verify the credibility of their claims. Such stories are an insult to genuine believers and should not be taken seriously.”
Adegbite further asserted, “God does not perform miracles in this manner. Success comes through diligence, not shortcuts.”
