Rabiu Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has affirmed that the party will not play a secondary role in the 2027 general elections. In a statement released by Osun NNPP Chairman Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, Kwankwaso emphasized that the NNPP will strengthen its state chapters to ensure the party’s competitiveness.

The statement, which followed a visit to the NNPP state secretariat in Osogbo, noted that Kwankwaso was represented during the visit by a three—man committee comprising Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, and Alhaji Abdusalam Abdulateef.

Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the progress made by various state chapters, particularly Osun, saying, “The reports from states like Osun give me great joy. We are aware of the challenges ahead for 2027, but we are fully prepared.”

He criticized past leaders for spreading poverty and warned they might attempt to deceive citizens with small benefits in 2027. Kwankwaso added, “NNPP is committed to the welfare of the masses, and we are mobilizing people across the country. Our state offices are equipped with vehicles to strengthen grassroots movements.”
