The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Ogidan Mustapha and three others for allegedly mutilating the corpse of a 13-year-old girl, Oriyomi Adegboyega, who died of electrocution.

The incident occurred in Igode, where Mustapha was caught by vigilantes attempting to dump the girl’s body, wrapped in a mat, near a river.

According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the vigilantes discovered both of the girl’s hands had been amputated. A subsequent search of Mustapha’s residence uncovered two pump-action rifles and various charms.

During interrogation, Mustapha denied mutilating the body but admitted he had been asked by the girl’s father, Sunday Adegboyega, to bury her. The other three suspects, who were involved in digging the grave, were also arrested. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
