Former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Danjuma (retd), has called on the Nigerian military to swiftly put an end to the ongoing violence and killings across the country. He made this statement during the launch of the book Big Boots: Lessons from My Military Service by Major-General Solomon Udonwa (retd) in Abuja.
Danjuma expressed his concerns about the widespread insecurity in Nigeria, describing it as the nation’s most pressing issue. He urged the military to take immediate action, stating, “The number one problem today is security. We must end the violence and stop the killings happening in our country as soon as possible. Those of you who are still serving have no excuse.”
Responding to Danjuma’s charge, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, assured that the military is committed to restoring peace. He highlighted that the armed forces are working tirelessly and remain dedicated to upholding the values of service, integrity, and honour.
