- The APC urges Edo State voters to ignore unofficial election results circulating on social media, emphasizing that INEC is still collating results
- APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka reassures the public that official election results will be announced by INEC, urging patience
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the electorate in Edo State to disregard any unofficial election results currently circulating on social media, stating that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is still collating results.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, the party advised the public not to be misled by inaccurate and speculative reports spread by certain political parties.
Morka emphasized that INEC is the only body authorized to collate and announce official election results, as the Electoral Act outlines. He clarified that vote collation was still ongoing at the Ward level and had not yet started in many Local Government Areas in the state.
“Our party is leading in the election, but we will not preempt the official process. We urge the public to wait for INEC’s final and accurate declaration of results,” Morka said, urging patience until the process is officially concluded.
