- The FGCKADOSA launched a food bank initiative in Abuja, distributing essential items to over 100 alumni facing hardship and providing health insurance
- Led by Hon. Bola Abduroshakin, the initiative aims to support less privileged alumni continuously, encouraging other groups to adopt similar programs
The Federal Government College Kaduna Old Students Association (FGCKADOSA), Abuja chapter, has launched a food bank initiative to help its members struggling with hardship.
During the flag-off event in Abuja over the weekend, essential food items such as rice, beans, chicken, oil, noodles, and garri were distributed. The initiative, led by the chapter’s chairman, Hon. Bola Abduroshakin, aims to support less privileged alumni in need.
Over 100 alumni have already benefited from the food bank and access to free health insurance through Reliance Health Care Insurance. Abduroshakin shared that the programme is intended to be ongoing, providing continued relief and support to the alumni community.
He encouraged other leaders and associations to adopt similar programmes to assist their members, families, and neighbors, rather than relying entirely on the government for help.
In addition to the food bank, the health initiative allows members to choose hospitals anywhere in the country. Members have full coverage for one year and the possibility of renewal.
Former FGCK president, Engineer Gazali Tukur, praised the current leadership for creating a platform beyond previous support systems, including healthcare arrangements for those who cannot afford medical services.
