Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has pinpointed a lack of goals as the main issue contributing to the club’s disappointing start to the season.
Frustration mounted for the Dutchman, now in his third year at Old Trafford, after United could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against lowly-ranked FC Twente in their Europa League opener.
This result came from a lacklustre goalless draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend.
During a pre-match press conference on Thursday, Ten Hag was asked about United’s biggest challenge. He succinctly stated, “Not scoring goals, not scoring enough. That’s the problem, the key area.”
