Over 1300 Ganduje’s allies ‘leaves’ APC for NNPP

The party said NNPP is not losing grip of control of its party structure across the political wards,

At least 1,331 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, loyal to Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman, have reportedly defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The defectors cut across the 11 wards of Dawakin-Tofa LGA of the state. Ganduje is from the same LGA.

Speaking at a grand reception in Dawakin-Tofa LGA, Hashimu Dungurawa, NNPP chairman in Kano commended the kinsmen for their ingenuity.

Isyaku Kwa, a leader of the defectors, said Ganduje’s inability to develop Dawakin-Tofa LGA during his eight-year tenure was the main reason for their departure.

He added that Ganduje’s leadership failures also extended to national party management and alleged anti-party activities in the 2023 elections, which led to his son’s failed house of representatives bid.

The NNPP chairman assured the decampees that Rabiu Kwankwaso, NNPP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, would provide them with equal opportunities within the party and lead the charge in socio-economic and infrastructural development in Kano.

He said NNPP remains firmly in control of its party structure across all wards, adding that defectors to APC are merely opportunistic “419” individuals seeking personal gains from their recruiters.

“We learn one APC man has been receiving members of NNPP into APC. Let me remind the Abuja man that we have checked the roll call of our members and we have not noticed any reduction in the volume of our numerical strength,” Dungurawa said.

“Perhaps, I need to advise the Abuja APC man to shine his eye and beware of 419 people coming to collect the public fund in his disposal in the name of decampees.

“In anyway, we would not blame anyone claiming to have decamped from NNPP to APC simple to collect his own share from the disposable income.

“Prominent among the former APC leaders now embrace NNPP include former Vice Chairman, Dawakin-Tofa local government area, Malam Isyaku Dahiru Kwa; former state House of assembly aspirant, Hon. Audu Magaji Tumfafi; Bashir Musa Sani, APC Youth Leader for Takai Organization among others.”
