  • Recall that the chairman of EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, had barred operatives of the anti-graft Commission from midnight raids.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission swooped in on Usmanu Danfodiyo University’s private hostels, arresting multiple students during a Saturday dawn raid.

The operation reportedly targeted Kwakwalawa and Gidan Yaro neighborhoods, densely inhabited by Usmanu Danfodiyo University students in Sokoto.

According to eyewitness accounts, the EFCC operatives stormed the hostels around 4am, indiscriminately arresting multiple students.

One student recounted, “They came at dawn, entered our rooms, and began arresting us without any explanation.”
