- The governor stressed that children, especially girls, should complete their education before getting married
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing free, quality education to all citizens, urging parents and guardians to enroll their children in public schools.
Speaking at the inauguration of a scholarship scheme for 40 students admitted into federal government colleges and an empowerment project for 360 elderly, youths, and women sponsored by Song Local Government Area, Fintiri emphasized the importance of education.
“The state government has made significant strides in improving public schools, including equipment, classroom construction, laboratories, books, free transportation, and feeding programs to facilitate teaching and learning,” Fintiri said.
Represented by his Deputy, the governor stressed that children, especially girls, should complete their education before getting married. “Acquiring Western education is crucial for aspiring to elective positions,” she added.
Idris Yahaya, Chairman of Song Local Government Area, encouraged parents to register their children in nearby public schools and monitor their academic and moral development. Yahaya pledged to continue supporting education through expanded initiatives.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship program, including students Mudaksir Ibrahim and Shuaibu Yahaya Gudu, expressed gratitude to the government for its support. Ardo Sani Mohammadu, Fulani leader of Dauchi village, appreciated the government for establishing a modern school for their children.
Fintiri’s administration aims to ensure no child in Adamawa State is deprived of education at any level.
