The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its South-East National Vice Chairman, Ali Odefa.

Odefa was suspended by his ward executive committee led by acting ward chairman, Herbert Ovuta

His suspension was announced at a press conference in Onicha Local Government Area on Friday.

The committee cited Odefa engagement in “anti-party activities” for his suspension.

Flanked by other committee members, acting ward chairman Ovuta stated: “We are here to inform you of the resolution of the Oguduokwor Ward Executive Committee to suspend Chief Ali Odefa, the National Vice Chairman of the PDP Southeast Zone, for activities that are destructive to our party’s name.”

He further stated: “His suspension is in compliance with Section 57 (3) of the PDP Constitution. Additionally, we have referred Chief Ali Odefa to the Ward Disciplinary Committee for further action.”
