The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has warned notorious terrorist kingpin Bello Turji that his days are numbered.

Speaking during an Annual International Lecture in Abuja, General Musa emphasized that the ongoing military offensive against terrorists in the North West has caused panic among Turji and his gang.

He pointed out that Turji’s recent actions are signs of fear and desperation. “You can see from his actions that he is in a state of panic. He used to act boldly, speaking as if he was fully in charge. Now, he knows he’s not,” General Musa said.

The CDS referenced the recent killing of Turji’s superior, Halilu Buzu, as a major blow to the terrorist’s operations, further signalling that Turji will soon face the same fate.

“Now that his commander is gone, he knows he’s next. All his current actions are just noise-making,” General Musa added.

He explained that while the military continues its operations, more terrorists will be neutralized. However, he acknowledged that poverty, illiteracy, and lack of good governance in the affected areas contribute to the prolonged insecurity.

General Musa also highlighted the issue of porous borders, particularly Nigeria’s 1,500-kilometer border with Niger Republic and the border with Benin Republic, which allows terrorists to move in and out of the country. He assured that efforts are underway to secure these borders and prevent further infiltration.
