Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has described the late Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, as a peaceful and God-fearing woman who was deeply devoted to her people.

Senator Tinubu made the remarks during a condolence visit to the Governor’s Lodge in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where she sympathised with Governor Umo Eno over the loss of his wife.

Reflecting on her relationship with the deceased, the First Lady said she felt privileged to have known her, noting that Mrs. Eno served her people with dedication and lived a fulfilled life.

“Politics aside, we are all Nigerians. One thing I thank God for is that when we meet people, we should show love and care. Despite her short time, she finished her course well. God will comfort you, her husband, and comfort your children. I will always be here for you,” Senator Tinubu said in a statement released by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi.

The First Lady signed a condolence register opened in honour of the deceased and joined in special prayers for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family.

Governor Umo Eno, while expressing his gratitude, acknowledged the First Lady as a compassionate figure who transcends political affiliations in her dealings. He described his late wife as his greatest partner and vowed to carry on the work she started in her capacity as First Lady of the state.

The First Lady was accompanied on the visit by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, as well as the wives of the leadership of the National Assembly and state governors’ spouses.
