- The donation follows contributions of N1.5 billion from Aliko Dangote
The Ogun State government has donated N200 million to support victims of the recent floods in Maiduguri, Borno State. The donation was announced by Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, on Saturday.
The floods, which struck in September, displaced over 400,000 residents in areas like Fori, Galtimari, Gwange, and Bulabulin, and claimed more than 30 lives, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Akinmade said the funds aim to provide immediate relief and help victims recover. He noted the flood had created a severe humanitarian crisis, urging Nigerians to support those affected.
The donation follows contributions of N1.5 billion from Aliko Dangote and N100 million each from former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Muktar Betara, a House of Representatives member.
