The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has set up two committees to address security and other challenges facing Northern Nigeria.

The decision was taken at a Board of Trustees meeting on September 4, 2024, with the committees inaugurated on September 30 and October 1 in Abuja.

According to ACF National Publicity Secretary Prof. Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the Unity, Peace, and Reconciliation Committee is led by former Head of Service Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, and will focus on strengthening unity and promoting peaceful coexistence.

The Security Committee, chaired by former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman B. Dambazau (retd.), will work on addressing the region’s ongoing security issues. The committees are expected to submit their reports by mid-November for review and action by the ACF and relevant authorities.
