ISWAP terrorists invade Yobe village, kill resident, destroy properties

The Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, terrorists wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s north-east region have attacked Yobe State.

The terrorists launched a deadly attack on Geidam town in the early hours of Saturday.

Multiple sources disclosed that one resident was killed during the onslaught and many properties were destroyed.

The assault began at around 3:30 am when the insurgents stormed the town, firing explosives indiscriminately and terrorising residents.

According to counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the attackers destroyed properties and set two vehicles belonging to Nigerian Customs officials ablaze.

The militants were said to have desecrated the grave of Khalifah Ayiloma, in Kolori Ward, setting the gravesite on fire.

They also attacked the home of 60-year-old Dahiru Muhammadu, a night watchman stationed near Geidam Polytechnic. Muhammadu sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was rushed to Geidam Specialist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
