APP Candidate Omereji Celebrates Peaceful Local Government Election in Rivers State, Declaring an End to Election Rigging

Rivers LGA Election

David Omereji, the Action Peoples Party (APP) Chairmanship candidate for Emohua Local Government Area (LGA) in Rivers State, praised the successful local government election, which took place without police involvement.

Omereji emphasized that election rigging is no longer an issue, with the people fully committed to ensuring peace and order during the vote.

This follows the Rivers State Police’s decision to abstain from participating in the election due to a Federal High Court ruling by Justice Peter Lifu.

After casting his vote in Ward 11 of Egbeda community, Omereji stated that the era of rigging is over. He described the election process as smooth, fair, and peaceful, adding that everything ran well without the police.

“The election was peaceful, and everyone voted without fear or intimidation,” Omereji said. “RSIEC has done a commendable job. The people were well-prepared for a peaceful process, and no one would tamper with the results. It will reflect the will of the voters.”
