Former Senator Shehu Sani has raised concerns over the rising costs linked to the political crisis in Rivers State. According to Sani, the ongoing conflict is taking a financial toll on both Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Sani shared his views on the issue through his post on X, highlighting the crisis amid local government elections in Rivers State.

He pointed out that maintaining political loyalty and influence is expensive, requiring regular spending to keep supporters on board and safeguard political power.

“The Rivers political crisis is costly for the Governor, the Minister, and the people,” Sani posted. “Every day, funds are spent to secure loyalty, preserve alliances, and defend political territories in a state rich in resources but troubled by endless challenges.”
