Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially inaugurated the newly elected chairmen of 23 local government areas, following their successful election on Saturday.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Sunday at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where 22 chairmen from the Action Peoples Party (APP) and one from the Action Alliance were formally inducted into office.
The APP secured a decisive victory, winning 22 local government areas, while the Action Alliance claimed one chairmanship seat, as announced by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
Governor Fubara extended his congratulations to the newly sworn-in chairmen, acknowledging their electoral triumphs.
With their inauguration complete, the new chairmen are expected to assume their duties, focusing on fulfilling campaign promises and enhancing the welfare of their local communities.
