- Primary Health Care Coordinator, Isa Nassarawa, described it as a success
Over 225,000 children under the age of five have been immunised against polio in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State during a recent vaccination campaign.
The council’s Information Officer, Salisu Yakasai, confirmed that the exercise met its targets, while Primary Health Care Coordinator, Isa Nassarawa, described it as a success.
Acting Chairman of the council, Munzali Alhassan, attributed the achievement to the collaboration between traditional rulers and parents. He urged continued support for health initiatives and called on health personnel to maintain close coordination with the local task force to eradicate polio in the area.
Health workers reportedly covered all parts of the LGA, leaving no child out, and the programme received logistical support from the government and NGOs.
