Amaechi Criticises Nigerians for Lack of Response to Economic Hardships

He said this in an interview with Igbere TV

Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has expressed frustration over what he perceives as a lack of response from Nigerians to the country’s economic challenges.

Speaking in an interview with Igbere TV, the former Rivers State governor said he was surprised that citizens, especially the youth, have not taken to the streets to protest against the rising cost of living.

“People should be angry because you cannot see a group of people stealing your money without doing anything. I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything,” Amaechi said.

He also questioned whether political campaigns should even be taking place in states like Edo, given the current economic situation. “Some of us cannot afford to buy diesel anymore because it’s costly,” he added.

Amaechi served as the Minister of Transportation for nearly eight years under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
