Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has emphasized the growing need for women to lead political change in Nigeria.
At the 28th Annual National Conference of the National Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) in Yola, Farauta applauded the state’s progress in promoting women’s political empowerment.
She highlighted the significant role women can play in leadership, stating, “Nigeria is ready for women to bring about a much-needed political transformation.”
Farauta pointed out that female leadership is often associated with higher levels of accountability and effective governance. She hoped that women would soon hold positions such as local government chairpersons.
She also praised Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration for its commitment to gender inclusivity. The administration has appointed women to key positions, including the Deputy Governor role, and continues to promote policies that support gender equality.
Women now hold leadership roles in all 21 local government areas in Adamawa State, showcasing the state’s dedication to empowering women in leadership.
