The Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy has launched the Creative Leap Accelerator Platform (CLAP), an initiative aimed at transforming Nigeria’s creative sector by upskilling over two million youths by 2027.

In a statement signed by Dr. Nneka Anibeze, Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, said the program would leverage technology to position Nigeria as a global leader in creative innovation.

The initiative, launched in August and chaired by the Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Mr. Obi Asika, is designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural preservation. An operational committee has been established, comprising members from the Minister’s Office, NCAC, and private sector partners, to drive the project.

“By 2027, CLAP aims to upskill over two million Nigerian youths, creating a comprehensive support system for the creative community,” the statement said, adding that a new digital repository will be established to curate Nigerian history and culture while promoting global connectivity among the black community.
