Rivers crisis: Fubara didn’t kneel before me – Wike debunks godfather allegation

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has denied claims that he is trying to maintain his hold on Rivers State by all means necessary.

Wike also said he was not planning to morph into a godfather in order to control and influence Governor Sim Fubara.

Speaking when he featured on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Wike said Fubara never knelt before him to beg.

The minister also accused the governor of impunity and refusal to obey court judgments.

According to Wike: “What is the meaning of godfatherism? Have I not left Fubara alone? What did he kneel down to me for? Never, he did not kneel down for me, what offense did he commit?

“The point I’m making is that Mr President cannot as the father of the nation say this should be done and you started laying blames.”
