APC: No Reversal of Tinubu’s Policies, Opposition Urged to Support Government

APC Rejects Opposition Claims, Urges Support for Tinubu's Policies Amidst Economic Hardship and Allegations of Electoral Manipulation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed any possibility of reversing the policies introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging the opposition to support the government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

In response to allegations from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that the APC rigged the September 21 governorship election in Edo State to push for a one-party system, the APC called the claims baseless.

The PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT) expressed concerns over what they perceived as a deterioration in the country’s socio-economic situation, which they blamed on APC’s policies.

Addressing the media on Thursday at the PDP national secretariat, BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara stated that the APC’s actions in Edo were part of a broader plan to impose totalitarian rule on Nigeria.

However, on Friday, APC’s Director of Publicity, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, refuted these claims in an interview. Ibrahim stressed that the ruling party had no intention of undermining democracy, stating, “The APC is a progressive party, focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people. Democracy thrives on opposition, but the opposition must be constructive, not destructive.”

Ibrahim added that the policies introduced by the APC government were not anti-people but aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of Nigerians in the long run.

He also criticized the PDP for its past governance, arguing that the country suffered under its leadership.

He concluded by urging the opposition to abandon any hope of policy reversal and instead support the current administration in bringing about positive change for the nation.
