  • Ndume begs Tinubu to reduce fuel, food prices.
  • He noted that many families are struggling to meet their daily needs.

Ali Ndume, senator representing Borno South, has accused “some advisers” of President Bola Tinubu of perpetuating Nigeria’s economic hardship.

In a statement on Friday, Ndume claimed certain insiders were promoting harmful policies, exacerbating inflation instead of controlling it.

He noted that soaring fuel, food, and essential goods prices have rendered life unaffordable for most Nigerians.

“I personally believe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means well for Nigeria and Nigerians,” Ndume said. “But ill-intentioned advisers mislead him.”

Ndume urged Tinubu to resist these harmful influencers, warning that their actions fuel public frustration.

The senator said his firsthand experience in Borno revealed widespread suffering, hunger, and desperation.

He added that many Borno families struggle to feed themselves due to relentless price increases.

The lawmaker stated that farmers face transportation costs, passing them on to consumers, making food unaffordable — traveling, even domestically, has become prohibitively expensive.

Ndume reiterated his faith in President Tinubu’s good intentions, imploring him to intervene.

He cautioned against testing Nigerians’ patience, urging swift action upon his return from the UK.

Ndume asked the president to tackle Nigeria’s economic woes immediately upon his return from vacation.
