  • During her speech, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria’s resources must be managed sustainably for future generations while calling for patience from citizens

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to embrace hard work, stating that “there is no food for the lazy man.” She made this statement on Thursday at the Ooni of Ife’s palace, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Mrs Tinubu was in Ile-Ife to inaugurate a hostel and a 2.7-kilometre road donated to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) by the Ooni of Ife, which was named in her honour.

During her speech at the palace, the First Lady emphasized the importance of diligence, saying, “Even God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day.”

She added that while Nigeria is a land blessed with abundant resources, efforts must be made to ensure sustainability for future generations.

She also noted that her family was already well-established before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise to the presidency and expressed contentment with their blessings.

Mrs. Tinubu called for patience from Nigerians, assuring them that the current administration is working toward sustainable development and a brighter future.

She emphasized that the economic challenges were not caused by the present administration, which has been in power for less than 18 months. She reiterated the government’s commitment to stabilizing the economy and improving the people’s lives, especially after the fuel subsidy removal.
