One Aliu Ibrahim has been accused of having unlawful sexual relationship with his 12-year-old biological daughter (name withheld) in Ogun State.
The incident happened at Papa Olosun area of Oja-Odan in Yewa-North local government area of the state.
The 41-year old suspect has since been arrested by the police following a complaint by his estranged wife, Egbebi Temitope.
According to Temitope, the suspect was fond of having carnal knowledge of the victim every time she visited him for the holidays.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Friday disclosed that Ibrahim was arrested on Thursday.
According to Odutola, Temitope disclosed that she found out about the suspect heinous act when she took the girl to the State Hospital, Ilaro for examination and treatment of infection.
Odutola said, “On Thursday at about 1410hrs one Egbebi Temitope “f” of Papa Olosun area of Oja-Odan reported an immoral behavior of her estranged husband one Aliu Ibrahim “m” 41 years old of the same Papa Olosun area of Oja-Odan. He was discovered to have been having unlawful carnal knowledge of their 12 years old daughter.
“He defiled her since about two years ago each time the innocent girl went to spend holiday with him.
“The sexual assault was discovered when she took the girl to State Hospital, Ilaro for examination and treatment over untreated vaginal discharge that has been occurring in the little child’s reproductive organ for an unknown period.”
She noted that on the information, the alleged pedophile father was arrested and on interrogation confessed to the crime.
The PRO stated that preliminary investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be transferred to the state criminal investigation department for further investigation and prosecution
