The Nigerian Army has reiterated its determination to continue fighting banditry and other forms of insecurity throughout the country.
Major General Kevin Aligbe, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), made this clear during an address to officers participating in the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE) in Akure, Ondo State.
Maj. Gen. Aligbe highlighted the importance of maintaining the momentum in combating security challenges such as banditry, kidnapping, and external threats.
He assured that the army remains steadfast in its mission to secure the nation, emphasizing that the fight must be completed before officers can return to their barracks and shift focus to other matters.
“We must complete this fight before returning to the barracks and turning our focus to other issues,” Aligbe stated.
He also urged the officers to continue their rigorous training to prepare for the evolving security landscape fully. Additionally, Aligbe reminded them of their responsibility to be ready to support both regional and global peacekeeping efforts when required.
