The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yusuf, has affirmed the government’s commitment to fostering a strong relationship with Dangote Cement Plc.
He made this remark during the handover ceremony of a multi-million-naira Security Outpost built by Dangote Cement in Lokoja.
The newly constructed Security Outpost, located within the premises of the State House of Assembly, is intended to bolster the Assembly’s security framework.
The Speaker praised the company for its support in maintaining peace and security in the state.
“This act of generosity has further solidified our relationship. We sincerely appreciate the gesture and are not taking it for granted,” Hon. Yusuf said.
He also commended Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Group, for his vision, business expertise, and humanitarian efforts.
Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, Plant Director at Dangote Cement Plc, represented by Mr. Adeniyi Azeez, the General Manager of Human Asset Management and Admin, stated that the company’s dedication to security is crucial for its continued business success in Kogi State.
He emphasized the importance of creating lasting partnerships that promote security, sustainability, and prosperity in the state.
Engr. Nawabuddin added, “Dangote Cement Plc recognizes that our success is not only measured by our achievements but also by the positive impact we make in the state.”
During a tour of the Security Outpost, Mr. Ademola Adeyemi, General Manager of Community Affairs and Special Duties, highlighted that this donation is one of many from the company toward the peace, security, and development of Kogi State. He also revealed that several other projects are planned for local communities.
Key officials, including Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Comfort Uchola Egwaba and other State House of Assembly members, were present at the event. The company is also building a state-of-the-art skills facility in Lokoja.
