  • Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, condemned the video as a “satanic attempt to spark another round of violence in the state”

The Imo State Government has refuted claims circulating in a viral video that Governor Hope Uzodimma is involved in constructing a gas pipeline from the state to the United States and Europe.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, the government dismissed the video, allegedly produced by a pro-Biafran group, as an attempt to tarnish the governor’s image and incite the Igbo people against other Nigerians.

Emelumba condemned the video as a “satanic attempt to spark another round of violence in the state,” following the recent arson attack on the National Open University of Nigeria Centre in Ehime Mbano, which was fueled by false rumours.

“They have started again,” Emelumba said, warning of another propaganda effort aimed at causing unrest. “The security agencies should be aware of this satanic move.”

He cautioned that the video’s “senseless and illogical contents” could mislead vulnerable individuals, prompting violence.
