...trains in Port Harcourt

Former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye is on the verge of joining Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Rivers United.

Ideye started training with the Port Harcourt club this week.

Rivers United head coach, Finidi George revealed that the striker is likely to join the club.

“There is every likelihood that he’ll join us. He wants to give back, that’s the most important thing,” Finidi said.

“He has that hunger, we’ve seen Ahmed Musa, and if he’s willing to do that, I think we’ll welcome him.”

Ideye was a member of the Super Eagles side that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

He has also played in the top leagues in France, Ukraine, England, Greece and Switzerland.

Ideye will be replicating the likes of Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi who joined NPFL outfit, Kano Pillars recently.
