Gunmen abduct Labour Party chieftains in Abia


Two chieftains of the Labour Party have been abducted by unknown gunmen in Abia State.

The victims were reportedly abducted after the heavily armed gunmen stormed a the Party’s meeting in a hotel in Aba.

According to reports, the masked men stated that they were acting on orders “from above” without giving further explanation.

Those kidnapped include the Deputy National Chairman, Ceekay Igara and the Acting State Chairman, Prince G. O. Ndubueze.

Ndubueze was said to have been forcefully whisked away in an unmarked vehicle, a development that has since raised concerns.

Following the development, Labour Party members attending the meeting started singing solidarity song, condemning the act as “anti-people” and decrying the security situation in the state.
