LG Poll: No Election Held In Kaduna, Says PDP

PDP Denounces Kaduna Local Government Election, Citing Lack of Transparency and Missing Materials

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the local government election held on Saturday in Kaduna State, claiming that the exercise did not occur.

Although limited voting reportedly began in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government Area around 3:30 p.m., the PDP spokesperson, Maria Dogo, stated that the party did not recognize the election.

On the phone, Dogo said, “Election materials were taken to local government offices without contacting party agents, and there were no result sheets among the materials.

This is unacceptable, and we want to tell the general public that the local government election was not held in Kaduna.”

Despite these claims, Hajiya Hajara Mohammed, Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), reassured the public that the election results would not be manipulated.

She also urged political parties to avoid inciting violence or spreading hate speech and called for support in ensuring peaceful and credible elections.

The election featured 79 chairmanship candidates from 10 political parties, including APGA, APC, PDP, NNPP, PRP, LP, YPP, ADC, ZLP, and AA.
