Defence Minister Commends Troops for Enhanced Security in Kaduna State

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has commended military troops for their efforts in securing Kaduna State, particularly along the Kaduna/Birnin Gwari road.

During a two-day operational visit, Badaru met with the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Maigwari II, and inspected military units, including Operation Fasan Yamma.

The minister praised the resilience of the troops, noting significant security improvements in Birnin Gwari, with no reported kidnappings or ambushes in the last six months. He conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s gratitude, urging the military to sustain their fight against banditry and other criminal activities.

Badaru highlighted the importance of their work in ensuring national stability and development, emphasising that security is crucial to Nigeria’s growth. He assured the emir of the president’s commitment to addressing the security challenges in the area, calling on the local community to continue supporting military efforts with timely information.

Earlier, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, General Officer Commanding 1 Division, briefed the minister on the integration of Operation Fasan Yamma, which consolidates several operations across northern states to enhance security coordination.
