The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested five suspects and seized around 20,000 litres of crude oil siphoned from vandalised pipelines in the Umielechi/izam community of Abia State.
According to a statement by the Corps’ National Public Relations Officer, CSC Afolabi Babawale, the suspects were apprehended during a midnight raid in the Obuzor ASA area of Ukwa West, following credible intelligence.
The stolen crude oil was stored in cellophane bags.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 42, were identified as Danniel Augustine, Moses Friday, Igboshe Musua, Sadiq Yunusa, and Dozie Ugo. Items recovered included 20,000 litres of siphoned crude oil and four motorcycles.
