The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has  announced a new date for its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting.

The meeting that was initially scheduled to hold tomorrow, October 24 has now been moved to November 28.

The Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi disclosed while reading a communique issued by the Forum at the end of it enlarged meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

He disclosed that the party resolved to postpone the NEC meeting after the consultative meeting of the various organs of the party.

According to him, the postponement was to ensure that the party goes into the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections of November 16 with the united front needed to oust the All Progressive Congress, APC, government in the state.

Mohammed implored the party’s members to eschew divisive remarks and underscored the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the party.

He urged members to shun divisive utterances that could frustrate ongoing efforts at strengthening the party to effectively play its role as the country’s main opposition, preparatory to taking over in 2027.

Those who attended the meeting include members of the: PDP-GF, the Board of Trustees, NWC, National Assembly leadership of the PDP Caucus and Forum of Former Governors of the party
