One Dead, Two Injured After Dangote Truck Crash in Lagos

The concrete-carrying truck collided with a JustRite retail vehicle

A Dangote Group truck lost control in Lagos’ Maryland area on Friday, killing one person and injuring two others.

The concrete-carrying truck collided with a JustRite retail vehicle, instantly killing the JustRite driver, who was loading goods at the time.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Dangote truck then crashed into a nearby building, injuring two bystanders.

Emergency services arrived promptly, and the injured were taken to Gbagada General Hospital for treatment. The deceased driver’s body was handed over to his family.

Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that the truck’s brake failure was the likely cause, and an investigation is ongoing.
